entertaining presentation.

Lecture: “Stephen Decatur and the Formation of the Navy” by Robert
Allison, author of Stephen Decatur: American Naval Hero, 1779-1820.  He
will discuss the life and legacy of Decatur, the youngest man ever to be
appointed Captain in the U.S. Navy.  Decatur's legendary roles in the
war against Tripoli (1801-1805) and in the War of 1812 were crucial to
the young nation's well-being; his relationship with Robert Fulton led
to the development of the world's first steam-powered warship; his years
as administrator of the peace-time Navy and his understanding of
American politics and culture were crucial to the Navy's survival. He
will be available to autograph copies of his book.

3.)  Software Engineering – Real-Time 3D Modeling, Acuity Technologies, Menlo
Park, CA

We have an opening for a software engineer developing software for
real-time shape reconstruction. This position will include construction
of 3D models from multiple images and integrating these capabilities
into products for high-speed object position and orientation
measurement. You will be using new techniques in projective geometry to
determine relative motion between cameras and the objects and scenes in
view. This software will be used with both passive video and active
laser projection systems. Applications include wind tunnel model
position, orientation, and deformation measurement, structural vibration
and strain analysis, unmanned aircraft navigation, and products for
manufacturing process control.

Requirements

Candidates should have experience with several of:

Image and video processing tools and techniques
Projective geometry and multiview stereo reconstruction
Solid model and surface representation data structures
Optimizing processing algorithms for video rate execution on

Experience in PR communications, networks, and C2 architectures highly desired. Knowledge of and experience with the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) highly desirable. -Coordinate report element inputs from multiple USCG directorates and CG-9 offices.

Merge all inputs into one report document, ensure consistent flow in the report, edit where necessary and format according to the CG-9 branding directive.

-Perform follow-up with senior leadership, SMEs, program reviewers and stakeholders to ensure report requirements are met prior to established deadlines

-Participate in follow-on meetings with the GAO and Congressional staff to answer any questions on the final report.

 Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree, 2-4 Years of relevant work experience, and knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office Applications.
