*** Greater Washington Chapter Surface Navy Association Wounded Warrior Project

For the past two years, the Greater Washington Chapter of the Surface Navy Association has conducted a campaign to assist our wounded shipmates recovering at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. We collected more than 800 DVDs for the Sailors and marines to enjoy during their recuperation. The following year we collected funds and donated 155 portable DVD players.

This year we want to do something very meaningful for those of our
shipmates limited in their ability to get out and around the Washington area during their convalescence. We have determined that Operation Second Chance provides many valuable services to military men and women, and would greatly benefit from a conversion van equipped too transport wheelchair patients in and around the D.C. area to attend sporting events, concerts, and other wise get out and about.

This is an expensive proposition, but very important for those men and women who are virtually stuck in the hospital. We have carefully looked at Operation Second Chance and are very impressed with the organization and the services it provides.

Therefore, SNA GWC is seeking to help OSC raise $30,000 to purchase a conversion van modified by Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. (AMS Vans). Please indicate your contribution at the SNA website:

exceed the $30,000, the additional funds will be available to OSC for insurance, registration, maintenance and operating costs for the van.

concern for those shipmates who had made a very great sacrifice in
service to their nation and security and freedom everywhere.

Ms. MIKULSKI. Mr. President,

I wish today to recognize the Department of Defense for its successful, BRAC-directed consolidation of the Army, Navy, and Air Force media activities into the new Defense Media Activity on October 1, 2008. The Department of Defense has greatly enhanced the consolidation by including the Marine Corps component and the American Forces Information Service in the new Defense Media Activity. The consolidation will improve the effectiveness and efficiency with which the Department of Defense media operations provides critical news and information to our Armed Forces around the world. In the summer of 2011, the Defense Media Activity will locate its headquarters to a state-of-the-art facility at Fort Meade, MD.
The Defense Media Activity is staffed by about 1,700 dedicated military and civilian employees who work in 15
countries. I wish the Defense Media Activity continued success in their support of the men and women of our military services and their families.

Experience/Special Knowledge Required.

Aerospace. The Naval Sales Manager reports to the H&SS OEM/Naval
Customers Sales Director. The Naval Sales Manager position is
responsible for representing Aerospace capabilities, products and
services to US Navy, shipbuilding primes, shipyards, and OEMs. This

Key Job Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:
*       Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Physics
or related field.
*       A minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, sales, or in
related customer interface positions such as contract management,
program management or a lead engineering position
*       Former qualified Submarine or Surface Warfare Navy officer with
Engineering Duty Officer background, preferred.
*       Should have a solid understanding of government procurement, DOD
contracts, regulations and procedures, and DOD operations and
maintenance services.
*       Demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in developing successful
strategies for business growth. Ability to assess the business
opportunities presented…strengths, weaknesses, and the potential of
groups, teams, and individuals.
*       Demonstrated managerial competence. Excellent leadership,
interpersonal skills, listening, communication and presentation skills.
Outstanding and proven analytical ability. Team facilitation skills.
*       US citizenship required due to ITAR restrictions.

* Master's degree in Business Administration
