*** From Eliot Brenner:
Ned:
My job, Director of the Office of Public Affairs, at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, will be posted on USAJobs Wednesday. It’s a career SES gig and we are only advertising for candidates within government or, i presume, with rehire rights. I can’t recall precisely what the background requirements are, but either being in the SES or having OPM certification should do it. I’m not sure if the language permits someone at the GS-15 level with experience that would get them past an OPM board to make it into consideration. Folks better versed at reading the entrails of government hiring notices would know better.
Since I saw the job 12 years ago on JOTW, competed and won it, I think it only fair that you post it out there again. It should gin up a few more candidates. My departure date is the end of July and I am really hoping we can get a good candidate on board in time for me to spend several weeks with them bringing them reasonably up to speed.
The NRC is consistently ranked among the top places to work in government, and I can attest to that.
Eliot
