DEFCON 1 newsletter for September 20, 2017

Issue # 522

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

– Albert Einstein

This edition of DEFCON 1 comes to you from Tacoma, Washington.

*** Welcome to the latest edition of the number one Defense Career Opportunities Newsletter, “DEFCON-1,” a networking newsletter featuring job opportunities and career advice for those who are part of the global defense, aerospace, maritime, marine technology and security industry.

DEFCON 1 brings you job opportunities every week, and counts on members like you to submit job listings to share and post in this newsletter.

***  NOTE:  I am migrating this newsletter to a new Google Groups List (Defense Career Opportunities Network).  If you didn’t receive this newsletter directly by email, you can be included in the group so you can continue to receive this newsletter for free.  Just send an email to requesting to be added to the DEFCON 1 list.

When you learn about a job opportunity in the defense sector, such as a position that comes open with your company, you send me the title, organization, location, and a brief description; link; or contact information, and I’ll share. This is a cooperative network. That means everyone’s participation is required to provide job opportunities to share.

***  From Tim Boulay:

I’m now working with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, and I have two openings that I hope you’ll be able to post on your next JOTW:

I’m starting a spate of hiring, and I’m looking for current and former federal government workers – and veterans – who are interested in two open GS-12/13 public affairs specialist positions working with me at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Md. My command does the research and development, engineering, test and evaluation for everything that the Navy and Marine Corps fly.

For those in Washington, D.C., that aren’t familiar with Pax River, it’s about 90 minutes away, the locality pay is the same as if you are working in D.C., housing prices are at least 50 percent cheaper, and my commute went from 3 hours a day to 30 minutes.

I’m limited to only posting the openings for a week, so if you’re interested, apply by midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
