The social media manager will work as part of a team of communication planners, writers, and media experts that support all communications activities for the Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency. The qualified candidate must be experienced in activating social influencers, analyzing and recommending new social media channels and tactics, developing social marketing plans, and helping develop themes for messaging, preferably in a health care environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in social media
- Must have strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Health care or Department of Defense experience a plus

22.) Senior Communications Consultant (Fusion Cell/Global Health Support), Akoya, Falls Church, VA
Looking for a highly strategic communicator who can analyze communications processes and messaging across a large organization and help drive more integrated, on-target, effective internal and external communications. This person will serve as senior communications consultant to the Director of Communications for the Defense Health Agency and will also support the Military Health System’s global health activities. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the policy and operational issues of the Military Health System.
The position requires a bachelor’s in communications or related field and 10+ years of experience in communications. Responsibilities will include developing senior leader talking points, forecasting communications issues for the organization, conducting analysis of market needs and product and message success, and creating and implementing communications plans.

23.) Media Relations Consultant, Akoya, Falls Church, VA
Looking for a media expert to serve as media relations consultant on a communications contract to support the Defense Health Agency at the Department of Defense. The qualified candidate will have experience developing and delivering reactive responses to media inquiries and proactive responses to media members as well as other critical audiences and influencers. The consultant will assist the media relations lead in identifying the subject matter expert or spokesperson for each response or pitch and will help prep them for interviews and in many cases develop talking points and practice questions and answers. The consultant will be expected to run media training workshops for Department of Defense employees and may be required to provide counsel to the Director of Communications and Director of Media for the Defense Health Agency on the media implications of issues and crises as they arise. The individual will participate in interviews and meetings with media as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in media relations
- Department of Defense experience a plus
