  • Must have strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Looking for a media expert to serve as media relations consultant on a communications contract to support the Defense Health Agency at the Department of Defense. The qualified candidate will have experience developing and delivering reactive responses to media inquiries and proactive responses to media members as well as other critical audiences and influencers. The consultant will assist the media relations lead in identifying the subject matter expert or spokesperson for each response or pitch and will help prep them for interviews and in many cases develop talking points and practice questions and answers. The consultant will be expected to run media training workshops for Department of Defense employees and may be required to provide counsel to the Director of Communications and Director of Media for the Defense Health Agency on the media implications of issues and crises as they arise. The individual will participate in interviews and meetings with media as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in media relations
  • Department of Defense experience a plus
