Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills required. Must be able to travel unassisted. Must be able move and use personal computer equipment and associated peripherals. Position requires individual to be proactive in identifying and solving problems.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Must have BS in Computer Science/Information Assurance (IA) or 5 years experience in the information assurance field. Must have 5 years experience in IA management. Must have knowledge of current DOD and DON IA policies, procedures, and workforce structure. Must have current IAM level I certification – GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC), Security +, or GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF). Must understand computer systems and the associated security requirements. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a CAC.

Mobile Shelter and Communication Engineer responsible for oversight and mission assurance of all prime contractor shelter and communication developments from design to operational test. Candidate will work with Integrated Product Team leaders (Hardware and Software Integration, Integration and Test, and System Engineering) to develop program-level processes for management and implementation of all cross component-level and element-level hardware and associated software. Responsibilities also include participation in MDA, FFRDC and prime contractor working groups and peer reviews. Candidate will support the development, implementation, and tracking of hardware requirements and technical performance metrics, including Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) for the Enhanced C2BMC project. Responsible for obtaining GFE as required for the prime contractor.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with hardware development/engineering on a major DOD or NASA program, to include: Requirements Definition; CONOPS development, Design; Development; Test; Integration; Verification and Validation; Training; and Maintenance and Logistics. Must have working knowledge of the DoD acquisition process. Prefer candidate with some program management; and risk assessment and mitigation skill sets. Experience with developing, testing and fielding of mobile shelters is highly desirable. Job will also require some Radio Frequency communications or satellite communications experience. Individual must be self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
Highly Desirable Skills: Working Knowledge of or experience with MDA Core Standard implementation, to include anti-jamming, anti-tamper and working in a nuclear, biological or chemical environment. Ability to work well with other engineers and an ability to handle adaptation to change. Previous experience with certifying field-mobile shelters for air or rail transport. Working knowledge of Technology Readiness Levels with the ability to assess hardware and software maturity. Experience in designing shelters to accommodate human factors. Previous test experience with shelter and/or communication hardware and data processing software. Working knowledge of crypto equipment. Formulation of operational concepts with fielded missile defense systems.
Education
Must have B.S. in Engineering Discipline or Physics. Prefer M. S. or better in Engineering Discipline. Formal acquisition education/training is desirable. (i.e., Defense Systems Management Course or equivalent, Industrial College of the Armed Forces.)
Clearance
Secret required. Top Secret preferred.
