A research engineer is needed to support multiple research programs into improving the survivability of armored vehicles. EXPERIENCE
The desired applicant will have had prior experience in modeling blast events, car crash events, ballistic events or similar simulations using non linear finite element solvers such as LS-Dyna, Autodyn or similar software. Experience in live fire blast tests and vehicle design is also a plus. Persons with experience in similar types of simulation and materials characterization may also be considered.
EDUCATION
An engineering degree from an accredited University in the fields of Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering at the MS level or higher is required. PhD preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively to potential sponsors.

Summary
The Associate Director for Information Technology (ADIT) has responsibility for the leadership, management, oversight, strategic planning, and execution of the information systems and technology programs and services for the Laboratory. Reporting to the Principle Associate Director for Science, Technology & Engineering (PADSTE) the Associate Director for Information Technology will play a vital role in providing expertise, support, and guidance in all areas of the IT strategy across the Laboratory. As a key member of the Laboratory's senior management team, the Associate Director for Information Technology has program and line responsibility for three divisions: Departmental Computing Services, Software and Applications Engineering, and Network Infrastructure and Engineering. The Associate Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality information systems and technology programs and for the development and execution of assigned programmatic responsibilities. ADIT programs serve the entire Laboratory and include support for personal computing, business computing, computer and telecommunications security, and network operations. Line management responsibilities include management of safety, security and environment, facilities management, workforce diversity and excellence, quality of science, technical capability development, and programmatic performance. The Associate Director is responsible for the development and implementation of institutional plans and programs for meeting or exceeding Los Alamos National Security/Department of Energy contractual requirements and performance measures in the above areas and for satisfying all relevant state and federal laws. The Associate Director will effectively address Laboratory goals for programmatic, business, and operational excellence and will be responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with Laboratory senior management, ADIT managers, the ADIT workforce, and internal and external customers. Successful record of working with local and state government leaders in communicating complex institutional messages. Demonstrated experience interfacing with Laboratory management and a broad knowledge of all Laboratory operations and activities.
Education
BS degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline required. Graduate (MS/MA/MBA) or Doctorate (PhD) degree in scientific or engineering discipline preferred.

Job Description & Responsibilities
VSE Corporation has been tasked to complete an assortment of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), on the B-52 Aircraft, located at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.
A person in this position does the following; maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
The work schedule is planned for a 40 hour week, Monday thru Friday.
Qualifications Required
A successful candidate will possess the following:
* Must possess at least 4 years experience at an aircraft technical skill level equivalent to the AFSC Skills levels.
* Experience and practical knowledge of the work environment located on a military facility.
* Must be familiar with reading Technical Manuals, Maintenance records, safety
regulatory guidelines such as OSHA and EPA instructions and publications.
* Must have previous experience and be familiar with Quality Control programs.
* The incumbent must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Responsibilities
Engineering Technician is part of a team providing support to a DoD Electronic Warfare (EW) Surface and Expeditionary Domain, responsible for assisting in analytical disciplines required to implement sustainment logistics as a multi-functional technical management discipline associated with the experimental development, design, test, production, fielding, sustainment, and improvement modifications of cost effective systems that achieve the War-fighters' peacetime and wartime readiness requirements. Analyze program support requirements to ensure that all requirements for ILS planning and implementation have been adequately addressed, and that planning adequately reflects known operational, design, and support requirements in accordance with current DoD directives. Qualifications
Candidate must be familiar with government and other contracting environment relating to logistics and general analytic services. Further, candidate must be familiar with the various DoD instructions that govern Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for Surface ships and craft; have a general understanding and ability to analyze, generate, update and maintain ILS support plans.
