Essential Job Duties:

 

Works with the G3 Plans and Operations teams to design and develop graphic/ visual effects utilizing the technology and software provided by the government. This position requires the use of specialized computer software to develop high quality computer illustrations, technical drawings and animations supporting various media used within the sections. The Graphic Artist must be capable of using specialized hardware and/or software in the preparation of military briefing slides and assist in planning, preparation and execution of VIP rotational in briefs to a myriad of individuals ranging from high ranking military officers, civilian dignitaries and VIPs from other countries. The Graphic Artist is responsible for the quality control, review and revision of all aspects of graphics development. Adapts to a variety of nonstandard problems which require extensive operator intervention (e.g. frequent introduction of new programs, applications or procedures). In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, chooses or devises a course of action from among several alternatives and alters or deviates from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution (e.g. reassigning equipment in order to work around faulty equipment or transfer channels); then refers problems. Additionally, the Graphic Artist is required to operate a computer for extended periods in an office environment. Performs other assigned duties as directed in order to meet customer requirements. This position is a part time on call non exempt (hourly) position, working under the War Fighter Focus (WFF) program under the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA) at the National Training Center (NTC). The NTC is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow; CA. WTA operations support the NTC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.

Responsibilities 

 

Software Engineer to provide critical contributions to National Security Space (NSS) programs in areas of Space Situational Awareness, Using Space to Enhance Terrestrial Ops, Space System Security, and Operationally Responsive Space.  Applications include modeling and simulation software, testbed software, and decision support tools.  Design and develop models and simulations to support the analysis of complex National Security Space problems.  Design and develop software for testing and/or emulation of spacecraft software systems.  Support studies relating to the design and implementation of modeling and simulation projects, testbed software, and decision support tools. 

 

Qualifications 

 

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Top Secret clearance. 5-10 years experience in model and simulation development and/or spacecraft software development. Experience developing and managing software development efforts using established software processes. Strong written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with excellent initiative and follow through.

 

Desired:

SCI clearance, Proven ability to lead small to medium teams. Master¿s in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Management.
