Successful candidate will:
- Plan and produce content related to the Military Health System and its activities for both internal and external audiences.
- Interview subjects and write, format, and publish articles, blogs, and Military Health System-related information for all appropriate distribution channels.
- Work closely with subject matter experts at DoD to ensure content accuracy and consistency of messaging across program offices.
- Rapidly adapt developed content to enable Military Health System leaders to respond to media stories or op-ed letters.
- Prepare responses to Congressional inquiries.
- Support account managers in developing strategic communications plans for several areas of military health, including preventive health, health IT, and global health readiness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, and have the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AP Style
- Must be willing to work on-site in Falls Church five days a week
- Must have the ability to travel to local DC events and provide coverage.
- A minimum of three to five years’ relevant work experience is preferred.
- Health care writing experience preferred.
